It depicts Lady Liberty stepping towards the viewer of the coin from out of a rising sun. Her hair flowing with a torch in her right hand to represents Enlightenment. In her right hand she holds an olive branch to represent Peace. There are 50 stars surrounding the perimeter of this 1/2 ounce gold coin, one for each of the 50 U.S. States. The reverse uses a portrayal of a family of eagles to symbolize family unity and tradition. The coin also carries the inscriptions E Pluribus Unum and In God We Trust.
